A new Pokémon TV anime series is set to begin next April. It will feature two new protagonists called Rico and Roy, who are accompanied by the Paldea starter Pokémon Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly.

A brief trailer has been released.

The announcement of the new series comes after original Pokémon protagonist Ash Ketchum/Satoshi finally became World Champion this November in Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series. Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series premiered in December 2021, over two decades after the very first Pokémon series premiered in April 1997.

Before the new Pokémon anime begins, Ash and Pikachu will return for an 11-episode series titled Pokémon: Mezame Pokémon Master. The show, described as “the final chapter in Ash and Pikachu’s story,” will premiere in Japan on January 13. And before that, there will be a special episode titled “Pokemon: Harukanaru Aoi Sora” that will premiere on December 23.
