Sweet Reincarnation Anime Releases Teaser Trailer and Visual, Begins Next July

A teaser trailer and visual have been released for the upcoming Sweet Reincarnation TV anime adaptation. A July 2023 release window was also revealed.

Sweet Reincarnation is directed by Naoyuki Kuzuya (Saiyuki Gaiden, Rent-A-Girlfriend Season 2 episode storyboarder) with series composition and scripts from Mitsutaka Hirota (Rent-A-Girlfriend), character designs from Chiko Miyagawa (Cute High Earth Defense Club Happy Kiss!), and music from Hiroshi Nakamura (Crayon Shin-chan Gaiden: Omocha Wars). SynergySP is producing the anime with production assistance from Studio Comet.

Meanwhile, the cast includes Ayumu Murase as Pastry, Natsumi Fushiwara as Marcarlo, Maaya Uchida as Luminite, and Kaede Hondo as Licorice.

Sweet Reincarnation is based on the TO Books-published light novel series written by Nozomu Koryu and illustrated by Yasuyuki Syuri, which began in October 2015 and has 21 volumes as of August 10, 2022. The story first began as a web novel on Shousetsuka ni Narou in February 2015. The light novels have inspired a manga adaptation written by Midori Tomizawa and drawn by Iida Seriko

J-Novel Club describes the manga as:

“A pastry chef with a promising future is reborn as the son of a poor lord. The boy’s name is Pastry, and he will be the next lord of the territory. The struggles of young Pastry’s story begin here as he aims to make people smile with his desserts and create a land flourishing with happiness. The best sweet comes with the best tale. This is a sweet fantasy that takes the royal road to change the world!”
