Revenger Unveils New Main Key Visual Featuring Main Cast

A new main key visual has been released for the upcoming action anime series Revenger. The new visual showcases all five central characters of the series, with protagonist Raizo Kurima in the center. The series will premiere on January 5, 2023.

Additionally, a short music video of Maaya Sakamoto’s “un_mute,” which is used as the ending theme for the anime, has also been released. 

The production staff of Revenger includes Masaya Fujimori (Kemono Jihen) as director, Gen Urobuchi (Psycho-Pass) as series screenwriter and co-script writer with Renji Ooki (Bubble), and Yuuji Hosogoe (Saga of Tanya the Evil) as character designer. Hosogoe is joined by Yuuki Nishioka (Bokura no Nanokakan Sensou) and Emiko Endou (Kemono Jihen) as animation supervisors. Jun Futamata is composing the musical score and Urobuchi is credited with the original story concept. Ajia-do Animation Works is in charge of the animation production. 

Nitroplus and Shouchiku announced the anime’s production in September 2022 and are credited as original planners. 

The voice cast consists of Jun Kasama as Raizo Kurima, Yuuichirou Umehara as Yuen Usui, Shunsuke Takeuchi as Teppa Murakami, Shouta Hayama as Soji, and Hisako Kanemoto as Nio. Additional voice actors include Akio Ootsuka as Gerald Kano and Takehito Koyasu as Jinkuro Isarizawa.

Crunchyroll will be streaming Revenger in January 2023 and describes the synopsis as: 

As master assassin Usui Yuen looks into a series of assassinations made on the grand samurai clan, the Satsuma, he encounters Kurima Raizo, member and survivor of one of the attacks. Together, they discover the true nature of these murders is bigger than over stolen resources. As they get closer to the truth, will they come out alive to exact revenge?
