The upcoming anime adaptation of Konosuba spin-off Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World! has received its second trailer and an April 2023 release date. Character visuals were also released.
The trailer previews Megumin’s school life and supporting characters like Komekko (Maria Nagamari), Chomusuke (Hitomi Nabatame), Arue (Kaori Nazuka), Funifura (Miyu Tomita), Dodonko (Sayumi Suzushiro), and Nerimaki (Shizuka Ishigami).
Konosuba: An Explosion on This Wonderful World! was originally a Kadokawa-published light novels series that ran from 2014 to 2015 with three volumes. A sequel series began in 2016 and released its second volume in 2019. Like the main KonoSuba series, which ran from 2013 to 2020 with 17 main volumes and two short story anthologies, the spin-off is written by Natsume Akatsuki and illustrated by Kurone Mishima. The series and its sequel are published under the Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko label and have received manga adaptations by Kasumi Morino.

The anime’s staff includes Yuujiro Abe (Kaguya-sama: Love Is War Season 1 and Season 2 episode director) as director and Kanasaki Takaomi (KonoSuba director) as chief supervisor. Reprising their roles from the main KonoSuba series’ first two seasons are Kouichi Kikuta as character designer, Makoto Uezu as series composer, Saori Yoshida as color designer, and Masato Kouda as music composer. Drive is producing the show instead of Konosuba Season 1 and 2’s Studio Deen or the KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on this Wonderful World Legend of Crimson movie’s J.C.STAFF.
Meanwhile, the cast includes Rie Takahashi as Megumin and Aki Toyosaki as Yunyun.
