Revenger Premieres January 5, Reveals Studio & Production Staff

The production team for the upcoming Revenger anime has revealed the animation studio, production staff, and ending theme song artist for the series. The anime is scheduled to premiere on January 5, 2023 and a new PV trailer has also been released. 

The production staff includes Masaya Fujimori (Kemono Jihen) as director, Gen Urobuchi (Psycho-Pass) as series screenwriter and co-script writer with Renji Ooki (Bubble), and Yuuji Hosogoe (Saga of Tanya the Evil) as character designer. Hosogoe is joined by Yuuki Nishioka (Bokura no Nanokakan Sensou) and Emiko Endou (Kemono Jihen) as animation supervisors for the series. Jun Futamata is composing the anime’s musical score and Urobuchi is credited with the original story concept. Ajia-do Animation Works is in charge of the animation production. 

Additionally, Maaya Sakamoto is singing the anime’s ending theme song “un_mute.”

The main voice cast consists of Jun Kasama as Raizo Kurima, Yuuichirou Umehara as Yuen Usui, Shunsuke Takeuchi as Teppa Murakami, Shouta Hayama as Soji, and Hisako Kanemoto as Nio. Individual character PV trailers have been released for each of these characters. 

Nitroplus and Shouchiku first confirmed the production of the anime series in September 2022. 

Crunchyroll will stream Revenger in January 2023 and describes the synopsis as: 

As master assassin Usui Yuen looks into a series of assassinations made on the grand samurai clan, the Satsuma, he encounters Kurima Raizo, member and survivor of one of the attacks. Together, they discover the true nature of these murders is bigger than over stolen resources. As they get closer to the truth, will they come out alive to exact revenge?
