Miku Itou Plays Additional Character Ai Izawa in Love Flops

The production team for the Love Flops anime series has revealed that voice actress Miku Itou (who currently voices Aoi Izumisawa in the show) will play an additional character named Ai Izawa. Ai made her debut in the anime’s seventh episode as someone Ashai used to know when he was younger. Episode seven aired on November 23, 2022. 

The production team for the anime series includes Yoshinobu Nagayama (Life Lessons with Uramichi Oniisan) as director, Midori Yui (Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru) and Fujiaki Asari (Higurashi: When They Cry – Sotsu episode director) as assistant directors, Toru Yasumoto (Steins;Gate 0 co-scenario supervisor) as series screenwriter, and Kazuyuki Ueta (Kiniro Mosaic: Thank You!!) as character designer and chief animation director. Passione is in charge of the animation production.

Other staff include Sakie Suzuki (Harem in the Labyrinth of the Other World) as color designer, Kouji Hayashi (Love To-LIE-Angle) as photography director, and Kenichirou Suehiro (Shadows House) as music composer. Kusanagi is credited with the art direction.

The main voice cast consists of Ryouta Oosaka as Asahi Kashiwagi, Miku Itou as Aoi Izumisawa, Ayana Taketatsu as Amelia Irving, Rie Takahashi as Ilya Ilyukhin, Hisako Kanemoto as Bai Mongfa, Marika Kouno as Karin Istel, and Jun Fukuyama as Yoshio Ijuuin.

Love Flops also has a manga adaptation with illustrations by artist Ryuudai Ishizaka and the story credited to Love Flops Project. It is currently serialized in Hakusensha’s Young Animal magazine and was first published on June 24, 2022. The first tankoubon volume was released on September 29, 2022.

HIDIVE is streaming the anime series in select English-speaking countries and territories. It describes the synopsis as: 

Asahi Kashiwagi lives the typical life of an average high school student — until the day a TV fortune teller’s predictions come true one after another, culminating in a series of risqué encounters! Destiny seemingly draws five beautiful girls into Asahi’s path, and soon he finds himself fielding not one, not two, but five love confessions. Asahi will need to follow his heart to find the perfect love for him, or else his love fortunes may end in one epic flail and flop.
