New Symphogear Project Announced

A new project inspired by the Symphogear anime series has been announced. It was not revealed what form the project will take or whether it is a new anime.

The launch date of the project, which was announced at today’s Symphogear Live 2020→2022 event, is also under wraps, with the announcement video merely listing 20XX as the date. The new Symphogear project has the caption, “Towards the never-before-seen ends of the world.”

Symphogear is an over-the-top sci-fi action series featuring singing and transformations that began in 2012. Game creator Akifumi Kaneko and music producer Noriyasu Agematsu are credited with its creation. Five seasons were produced as of 2019, with Symphogear XV being the latest. The anime has also inspired manga and live events.

Symphogear XV was directed by Katsumi Ono with Akifumi Kaneko as series composer, Dan Yoshii as original character designer, Satoru Fujimoto as character designer and chief animation director, Fumiaki Kouta as assistant director and Alca-noise designer, Yousuke Kabashima and Tokiemon Futsuzawa as chief animation directors, Taiga Hiroyuki and Tomohiro Kawahara as mechanical designers, and Elements Garden as music composer. Yukiyoshi Shikiji, Toshihara Sugie, Yoshiki Nakakouji, and Hiroyuki Takashima served as action directors while Yoshiyuki Ohkubo, Shunta Sakamoto, and Hanyuu served as main animators. Satelight produced the show.

Meanwhile, the cast includes Aoi Yuuki as Hibiki Tachibana, Nana Mizuki as Tsubasa Kazanari, Ayahi Takagaki as Chris Yukine, Youko Hikasa as Maria Cadenzavna Eve, Yoshino Nanjou as Shirabe Tsukuyomi, Ai Kayano as Kirika Akatsuki, Yuka Iguchi as Miku Kohinata, Misaki Kuno as Elfnein, and Hideo Ishikawa as Genjuro Kazanari.
