The Laid-Back Camp anime series is set to continue with a third season. An illustration from the manga’s creator Afro was released with the announcement.
The first season of the camping-themed slice-of-life anime aired in 2018. A spin-off called Room Camp aired in 2020, while a second season followed in 2021. The latest entry in the series was an anime movie, featuring the Laid-Back Camp characters as adults, that premiered in Japan on July 1 this year.
The Houbunsha-published manga that inspired the show began in 2015 and has 13 tankoubon volumes as of March 2022. It was first serialized in Manga Time Kirara Forward but is currently running in the COMIC FUZ app, and is published under the Manga Time KR Comics label.
Yen Press describes the manga as:
Setting up a tent, starting a fire, and eating noodles with Mt. Fuji in view…Rin and Nadeshiko absolutely love to camp! Enjoy their zest for travel and maybe even pick up a tip or two about roughing it in the great outdoors. You might just want to go camping yourself!
The Laid-Back Camp movie’s main staff includes Yoshiaki Kyougoku (Laid-Back Camp Season 1 and 2) as director, Jin Tanaka (Laid-Back Camp Season 1 and 2 series composer and scriptwriter) and Mutsumi Itou (Room Camp series composer and scriptwriter, Laid-Back Camp Season 1 and 2) as scriptwriters, and Mutsumi Sasaki (Laid-Back Camp and Room Camp) as character designer.
Other staff who served on both the movie and previous seasons include Production Ai’s Yoshimi Umino as art director, Studio Twinkle’s Hiroaki Tanaka as photography director, Studio Road’s Taeko Mizuno as color designer, and Akiyuki Tateyama as music composer. C-Station is the animation production company for all of the entries.
Meanwhile, the cast includes Yumiri Hanamori as Nadeshiko Kagamihara, Nao Touyama as Rin Shima, Sayuri Hara as Chiaki, Aki Toyosaki as Aoi Inuyama, and Rie Takahashi as Ena Saito.
