A new teaser visual for the upcoming second season of Jujutsu Kaisen has been released, previewing the highly anticipated “Shibuya Incident” story arc. The visual depicts Satoru Gojo and his students (Yuuji Itadori, Megumi Fushiguro, and Nobara Kugisaki) sitting in an empty subway train.

This “Shibuya Incident” teaser visual was released to compliment the first visual that was released earlier this month, depicting a younger Gojou and Suguru Getou on a train together. That visual highlighted the “Hidden Inventory/Premature Death” that will portray Gojou and Getou in their young Jujutsu High years.

The main production staff of the first season consisted of Sunghoo Park (The God of High School) as director, Yui Umemoto (Granblue Fantasy: The Animation Season 2) as assistant director, Hiroshi Seko (Attack on Titan: The Final Season) as series screenwriter and scriptwriter, and Tadashi Hiramatsu (Yuri!!! on Ice) as character designer. MAPPA handled the animation production for the show.

The primary voice cast included Junya Enoki as Yuji Itadori, Yuuma Uchida as Megumi Fushiguro, Asami Seto as Nobara Kugisaki, and Yuuichi Nakamura as Satoru Gojo.

Gege Akutami’s manga is currently serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine under the Jump Comics label. It was first launched on March 5, 2018, with 20 total tankoubon volumes released as of August 2022.

A prequel manga titled Jujutsu Kaisen 0 has also been released after serialization in Jump GIGA from April to July 2017. It was later published as a single volume in November 2018. Its anime film adaptation premiered in Japan on December 24, 2021 and became the country’s 15th top-grossing movie.

Crunchyroll streamed the first season in multiple countries and territories as it aired in Japan. It describes the story as:

Hardship, regret, shame: the negative feelings that humans feel become curses that lurk in our everyday lives. The curses run rampant throughout the world, capable of leading people to terrible misfortune and even death. What’s more, the curses can only be exorcised by another curse.

Itadori Yuuji is a boy with tremendous physical strength, though he lives a completely ordinary high school life. One day, to save a classmate who has been attacked by curses, he eats the finger of Ryomen Sukuna, taking the curse into his own soul. From then on, he shares one body with Ryomen Sukuna. Guided by the most powerful of sorcerers, Gojou Satoru, Itadori is admitted to the Tokyo Metropolitan Jujutsu Technical High School, an organization that fights the curses… and thus begins the heroic tale of a boy who became a curse to exorcise a curse, a life from which he could never turn back.
