Moonrise Netflix Anime Gets Teaser Trailer, 2024 Release Date

Netflix has released a teaser trailer for Moonrise, the previously announced WIT Studio-produced science fiction anime. The teaser trailer previews the characters and some action sequences, while the description reveals an “Earth vs. the moon” premise.

It was also announced that the show will be released in 2024. A tweet from the Netflix Anime Twitter account includes the words, “How will the fate of the peaceful inhabitants of Earth and the Moon’s resistance fighters unfold…?”

Staff details were revealed as well. Moonrise is written by novelist Tou Ubukata (RWBY: Ice Queendom, Psycho-Pass Season 2 and 3 series composer) with original character designs by manga creator Hiromu Arakawa (Fullmetal Alchemist, Silver Spoon). Masashi Koizuka (Attack on Titan Season 2 and 3) is directing with Ayumi Yamada (Attack on Titan Season 2 and 3 sub-character designer) as character designer and Ryou Kawasaki (To Your Eternity) as music composer.

Other staff include Takuma Ebisu (Vivy -Fluorite Eye’s Song-mechanical designer) as mechanical designer and action animator, Yuuko Sera (Attack on Titan Season 3 action animation director) as action animator, and Takaaki Chiba (Bubble) and Taisei Kudou (Attack on Titan Season 3 animation director) as main animators. Additionally, Megumi Tomita (Seraph of the End co-main animator) is the sub-character designer, Satoshi Hashimoto (Spy x Family) the color designer, and Kouji Tanaka (The Deer King) the photography director.
