The upcoming soccer anime Blue Lock has received a new promotional video in the form of an “introduction movie,” which explains the show’s premise and previews the soccer action.

It was also revealed that Blue Lock will have a consecutive two-cour format with 24 episodes in total. Additionally, a social simulation game for mobile titled Blue Lock Project: World Champion is set to be released this fall on Google Play and App Store. Blue Lock will begin in Japan on October 8. Crunchyroll is simulcasting the show. After a disastrous defeat at the 2018 World Cup, Japan’s team struggles to regroup. But what’s missing? An absolute Ace Striker, who can guide them to the win. The Football Association is hell-bent on creating a striker who hungers for goals and thirsts for victory, and who can be the decisive instrument in turning around a losing match…and to do so, they’ve gathered 300 of Japan’s best and brightest youth players.
