Gawr Gura of hololive English -Myth- has released her own animated short, Shark’d, following her first 3D live performance and 2 year anniversary celebrations. The short mirrors her lore-driven origin story. She emerges from the ocean, buys her iconic shark hoodie, and finds a flier advertising for hololive auditions.

The short is full of fun references, including Officer Subaru, Haachama’s tarantula dishes, and a missing poster for Olivia who will eventually be resurrected as Ollie. Gura’s room is littered with merchandise of her fellow hololive English talents, including plushies of Smol hololive -Myth-, posters, and calendars.

The short film was animated by Tonari Animation. The original idea is credited to Gura herself, with Jenma and Jarrett Martin filling the roles as executive producers. The short was directed by Beast and produced by Roberto Furata. Tommy Duch was brought on as art director, Art Designs were contributed by Calvin Zhong, with character designs done by Yoshi Kirishima. Farhan Sarasin composed the music featured in the short. A full list of credits are featured at the end of the short.

Gawr Gura is an English language Virtual YouTuber associated with hololive. She debuted as part of hololive English -Myth- on September 12, 2020 alongside Mori Calliope, Takanashi Kiara, Watson Amelia, and Ninomae Ina’nis. She is currently the most-subscribed VTuber on YouTube, having overtaken Kizuna Ai, in 2021. She recently passed the 4 million subscriber milestone.
