Ani-One Asia Reveals Chainsaw Man Streaming Details

Ani-One Asia will stream Chainsaw Man as part of its membership-only October lineup. The streaming platform also revealed that there will be two release schedules depending on region.

Ani-One Asia will release the Chainsaw Man premiere on 11 October at 12 AM (UTC+8) for those in Brunei, Cambodia, Fiji, Laos, Marshall Islands, Mauritius, Micronesia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nauru, New Caledonia, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Island, Timor-Leste, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu. 

However, viewers in Bangladesh, Bhutan, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Macau, Malaysia, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam will have to wait until 18 October at 12 AM (UTC+8) before they can watch the first episode.

Chainsaw Man is based on the manga by Tatsuki Fujimoto, which debuted in 2018. The first part of the manga ran from 2019 to 2021 in Weekly Shonen Jump. The second part began serialization on the Shonen Jump+ app and website in July.

Viz Media describes the plot as:

Denji’s a poor young man who’ll do anything for money, even hunting down devils with his pet devil Pochita. He’s a simple man with simple dreams, drowning under a mountain of debt. But his sad life gets turned upside down one day when he’s betrayed by someone he trusts. Now with the power of a devil inside him, Denji’s become a whole new man—Chainsaw Man!

The Chainsaw Man anime’s staff includes Ryuu Nakayama (Gamers! opening director and storyboarder et al., Macross Delta main animator, The Ryuo’s Work Is Never Done! opening director and storyboarder et al.) as director, Kazutaka Sugiyama (Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation) as character designer, Tatsuya Yoshihara (Black Clover director [until Episode 152] and chief director [Episode 153 onwards]) as action director, and Hiroshi Seko (Attack on Titan: The Final Season series composer) as scriptwriter. MAPPA is the animation production studio.

•Kiyotaka Oshiyama (Deca-Dence cyborg designer, DEVILMAN crybaby devil designer) as devil designer

•Yusuke Takeda (Vivy -Fluorite Eye’s Song-) as art director

•Youhei Miyahara (Fate/Grand Order – Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia technical director) as screen designer

•Kensuke Ushio (Japan Sinks: 2020) as music composer

Meanwhile, the main cast includes Tomori Kusunoki as Makima, Kikunosuke Toya as Denji, Shogo Sakata as Aki, and Fairouz Ai as Power.
