Love Live! Superstar!! Season 2 is getting a delay to its eighth episode, with the announcement citing the spread of Covid as the reason. The episode will now air on September 11.
Love Live! Superstar!! Season 2 premiered on July 17. The show once again follows the five members of the Yuigaoka all-girls high school’s Liella idol group, with four freshman characters joining the main cast. The first season premiered in July 2021.
The returning staff includes Takahiro Kyougoku as director, Jukki Hanada as series composer, Yuuhei Murota as original character designer, Atsushi Saitou as character designer, Reiji Kasuga as art director, Rie Katou as color designer, Yuuki Iinuma as CG director, Tadashi Kitaoka as photography director, and Yoshiaki Fujisawa as music composer. Sunrise is the animation production company.
Meanwhile, the cast includes Sayuri Date as Kanon Shibuya, Liyuu as Tang Keke, Nako Misaki as Chisato Arashi, Naomi Payton as Sumire Heanna, Nagisa Aoyama as Ren Hazuki, Nozomi Suzuhara as Kinako Sakurakoji, Akane Yabushima as Mei Yoneme, Wakana Ookuma as Shiki Wakana, and Aya Emori as Natsumi Onitsuka.
The anime is one of several spawned from the Love Live! multimedia franchise that began in 2013. The Love Live! Superstar!! multimedia project is the fourth in the franchise.
