The upcoming Lycoris Recoil: Ordinary Days spin-off light novel is getting reprinted ahead of its September 9 launch, with publisher Kadokawa citing strong pre-order numbers for the decision.

In a comment, author Asaura (Ben-To), who is also the story draft writer for the currently ongoing Lycoris Recoil anime, noted that having reprints happen before a book goes on sale is a rare occasion. Furthermore, they said that the number of reprints for Lycoris Recoil: Ordinary Days was “unprecedented.”

Lycoris Recoil: Ordinary Days is illustrated by Imigimuru (Lycoris Recoil character designer, This Art Club Has a Problem! mangaka) with Spider Lily (the pseudonym listed as the anime’s original creator) as supervisor and draft writer. The light novel is listed with 344 pages and will be published under the Dengeki Bunko label.

The Lycoris Recoil anime premiered on July 2 and will run for 13 episodes according to the Blu-ray listings. The show takes place in a Japan where teenage female agents called Lycoris secretly maintain the peace by preventing crimes before they have begun. Heroines Chisato and Takina are two such Lycoris, but they work at a branch that doubles as a legitimate cafe and provider of services like language teaching.

The show’s staff includes Shingo Adachi (Sword Art Online and WORKING!! character designer) as director, Yuusuke Maruyama (Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon: The Second Act opening director and storyboarder) as assistant director, Kenji Sawada (Shikimori’s Not Just A Cutie co-main animator) as main animator, Yumiko Yamamoto (Sword Art Online Alicization War of Underworld co-character designer) as sub-character designer, and Shuuhei Mutsuki (Three Leaves, Three Colors) as music composer. A-1 Pictures is the animation production company.

Meanwhile, the cast includes Chika Anzai as Chisato, Shion Wakayama as Takina, Ami Koshimizu as Mizuki Nakahara, Misaki Kuno as Kurumi, and Kousuke Sakaki as Mika.
