One-Punch Man Season 3 Announced With Teaser Visual

A third season of One-Punch Man is on its way. The announcement was accompanied by a teaser visual of Saitama and Garou that was illustrated by Chikashi Kubota, the character designer for the first two seasons.

One-Punch Man began as a self-published web manga by ONE in 2009. The Shueisha-published version began in 2012 and has been collected into 26 tankoubon volumes as of June 2022. The latter is serialized on Tonari no Young Jump and published under the Jump Comics label.

Viz Media describes the manga as:

Every time a promising villain appears, Saitama beats the snot out of ’em with one punch! Can he finally find an opponent who can go toe-to-toe with him and give his life some meaning? Or is he doomed to a life of superpowered boredom?

The first two anime seasons of One-Punch Man were released in 2015 and 2019 respectively. The first season was produced by Madhouse and directed by Shingo Natsume, while the second season was produced by J.C.Staff and directed by Chikara Sakurai.

Aside from the anime, the manga has inspired a few video game adaptations. A Hollywood live-action movie adaptation is also in the works.
