Yen Press has announced the license of six new manga and light novel titles added to its catalog. The new licenses feature some interesting romance and adventure series, ranging from the light novel version of Hirano and Kagiura to a new School-Live! series.

All titles are expected to be published sometime in the future. In the meantime, here is a full list of their newest acquisitions.

Shou Harusono’s Hirano and Kagiura light novel will be released by Yen Press in English. The publisher has also licensed and released the manga version of the spinoff series. The novel was first published in Japan on October 26, 2018.

An animated short of Hirano and Kagiura will be released alongside the upcoming Sasaki and Miyano in 2023.

Yen Press will also release School-Live! Letters — a sequel to Norimitsu Kaihou and Sadoru Chiba’s School-Live! zombie slice-of-life manga series. Kaihou and Chiba return to work on the short follow-up manga.

School-Live! Letters was serialized in Houbunsha’s Manga Time Kirara Forward magazine from June 24, 2020 to August 24, 2021. A single tankoubon volume of the series has been released.

Mikanuji’s yuri short story collection Assorted Entanglements will also be released for the first time in English. The collection first began as a series of web manga released on their Twitter account since June 3, 2017. The series has also been published on Mikanuji’s pixiv account since June 14, 2017.

Kadokawa picked up Assorted Entanglements for formal publication on March 14, 2019.

The light novel series Bride of the Barrier Master is written by Kureha and illustrated by Bodax. Yen Press will release the novels for the first time in English, which is published under the Kadokawa Bunko imprint.

A manga adaptation of the Boys Love series SOTUS will also be released in North America. The manga is based on a Thai web novel series titled SOTUS: Phi Wak Tua-rai Kap Nai Pi Nueng, which is written by Bittersweet, who is also credited with the manga’s story. Artist Kei Shichiri is illustrating the manga adaptation.

Kiwamu Sato’s award winning crime novel Tezcatlipoca will be released under Yen Press’s Yen On novel imprint. This marks the first of his works to be translated and released into the English language.

Tezcatlipoca won the prestigious 165th Naoki Prize literary award for best work in popular literature. The novel also won the 34th Yamamoto Shuguro Prize. Yen Press will release the novel in hardcover and digital format in February 2023.
