The 2019 Mix: Meisei Story anime adaptation is getting a second season.

Mix: Meisei Story is based on the Shogakukan-published manga by Mitsuru Adachi, which began in 2012 and has 19 tankoubon volumes as of July 2022. Mix, which is serialized in Gessan and published under the Gessan Shonen Sunday Comics label, takes place decades after Adachi’s 1981 manga, Touch.

Crunchyroll describes Mix: Meisei Story as:

A new generation steps up to the plate in a moving sequel to the 1985 baseball manga, Touch. Stepbrothers Touma and Suichirou are ace players on Meisei High School’s baseball team, and thanks to them, the team may finally have a chance at returning to nationals. But little by little, a tragic legacy unfolds as the stepbrothers follow in their fathers’ footsteps.

The anime’s first season was directed by Toshinori Watanabe (Teppen!!!) with Atsuhiro Tomioka (Battle Spirits: Gallet’s Revolution) as series composer and Takao Maki (Basilisk: The Ouka Ninja Scrolls) as character designer. OLM produced the show.

Meanwhile, the cast includes Yuuki Kaji as Toma Tachibana, Yuuma Uchida as Soichiro Tachibana, Maaya Uchida as Otomi Tachibana, and Kana Hanazawa as Haruka Ooyama.
