Sony Pictures has released a clip from the upcoming The Way of the Househusband live-action movie. The video shows protagonist Tatsu in a confrontation with landshark antagonist Kondo.

The movie, titled Gokushufudo the Cinema, is set to premiere in Japan on June 3. It is inspired by The Way of the Househusband comedy manga by Kousuke Oono, which received a television drama adaptation in 2020 and a Netflix anime adaptation in 2021. The Shinchosha-published manga, which is serialized on Kurage Bunch and is published under the BUNCH COMICS label, began in 2018 and has nine tankoubon volumes as of March 2022.

Like the TV drama, Gokushufudo the Cinema stars Hiroshi Tamaki as Tatsu, Haruna Kawaguchi as Miku, and Jun Shison as Masa. The movie and drama also share the same director in the form of Touichirou Rutou. Koutarou Yoshida is playing the role of Kondo.

Viz Media describes the manga as:

He was the fiercest member of the yakuza, a man who left countless underworld legends in his wake. They called him “the Immortal Dragon.” But one day he walked away from it all to travel another path—the path of the househusband! The curtain rises on this cozy yakuza comedy!
