Muse SG describes the anime as:

In an era in which the nations of the world were waging a fierce war of information, Ostania and Westalis had been in a cold war state for decades.

Twilight is one of the best spies from Westalis and he has been charged with the top-secret mission to keep his eye on Desmond, a key figure from Ostania who is threatening the peace between the East and the West.

His mission is to “Establish a family and infiltrate the social circle at the prestigious school his target’s son attends.”

However, the daughter Twilight meets is a telepath who can read people’s minds and his wife is an assassin! The peace of the world rests in the hands of a family of three hiding their true identities from each other.

Spy x Family is based on the Shueisha-published manga by Tatsuya Endou, which began in 2019 and has eight tankoubon volumes as of November 2021. The manga is serialized on Shonen Jump+ and published under the Jump Comics+ label.
