Crunchyroll has released a new special teaser trailer of the 87th episode of Attack on Titan Final Season on their YouTube channel. The final episode of the series is slated to premiere in Japan this Sunday on April 3, 2022 while the English dub streams on May 1, 2022. Crunchyroll and Funimation will both stream the episode.
The teaser trailer showcases some notable scenes from the past season, as well as snippets from the upcoming finale. It’s currently unclear if there will be a continuation of the anime series to adapt the rest of the manga.
The 87th episode (or 12th episode in Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2) was previously announced to have been delayed from its original March 27, 2022 broadcast date because of special programming.
WIT STUDIO produced the first three seasons starting from 2013. MAPPA took over as the main animation production company for the Final Season installment.
The main production staff of Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2 includes Yuuichirou Hayashi as director, Hiroshi Seko as series composer, Tomohiro Kishi as character designer, and Daisuke Niinuma as chief animation director. Manabu Akita joins the team as another chief animation director for the series. Returning voice cast from previous seasons have also reprised their respective roles for the latest season.
Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2 began airing on January 9, 2022. It is based on the manga series of the same name by Hajime Isayama, which was first published in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shounen Magazine in 2009 before concluding in April 2021. The franchise has spawned a countless number of spinoff manga, novels, games, and a two-part Japanese live-action film series.
Crunchyroll describes Attack on Titan Final Season as:
It’s been four years since the Scout Regiment reached the shoreline, and the world looks different now. Things are heating up as the fate of the Scout Regiment—and the people of Paradis—are determined at last. However, Eren is missing. Will he reappear before age-old tensions between Marleyans and Eldians result in the war of all wars?
