A new key visual and short trailer from Call of the Night has been released, promoting the character Akira Asai (voiced by Yumiri Hanamori). The anime is scheduled to premiere in July 2022.
The 15-second PV trailer highlights her character talking to the protagonist, Kou Yamori (voiced by Gen Satou), while the visual shows her sitting on a swing set in the daylight.
Tomoyuki Itamura (The Case Study of Vanitas) is directing the anime series while Tetsuya Miyanishi (Aoharu X Machinegun) serves as the chief director. Michiko Yokote (The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!) is writing the anime’s screenplay and Haruka Sagawa (Child of Kamiari Month) is doing the character designs. LIDENFILMS is handling the animation production and the anime will air on Fuji TV’s Noitamina block.
The original manga series was first published in 2019 and has published 10 tankoubon volumes as of March 2022. It is written and illustrated by Dagashi Kashi creator Kotoyama and currently runs in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shounen Sunday magazine.
