The previously announced Dr. STONE: Ryusui special is expected to air this coming July 2022. Production company Slow Curve made the announcement at their AnimeJapan 2022 stage event.

The anime TV special will feature the character Ryusui Nanami, voiced by Ryouta Suzuki, and an original story that will connect the second and upcoming third season. A new trailer and key visual for Dr. STONE: Ryusui was revealed last December at Jump Festa 2022.

The third season of Dr. STONE will premiere sometime in 2023 and explore the original manga’s “Age of Exploration” story arc.

Tatsuya Katou (WorldEnd, Revue Starlight), Hiroaki Tsutsumi (Children of the Whales, Anima Yell!), and Yuki Kanesaka (Blood Blockade Battlefront) handled music composition. Yuko Iwasa (Saint Seiya: The Lost Canvas, Yowamushi Pedal) was in charge of character designs. TMS Entertainment handled animation production for the anime series.

The anime’s voice cast features Makoto Furukawa and Yuusuke Kobayashi as Taiju Ouki and Senku respectively. Other voice cast include Ayumu Murase as Ginro, Gen Satou as Chrome, Kana Ichinose as Yuzuriha Ogawa, Karin Takahashi as Suika, Kengo Kawanishi as Gen Asagiri, Manami Numakura as Kohaku, Mugihito as Kaseki, Reina Ueda as Ruri, Tomoaki Maeno as Kinro, Yuuichi Nakamura as Tsukasa Shishio, Atsumi Tanezaki as Nikki Hanada, Yoshiki Nakajima as You Uei, and Kensho Ono as Ukyou Saionji.
