A second season of the Baki Hanma anime has been announced. The martial arts show will be available worldwide on Netflix.
Several official screenshots were released as well.
The first season of Baki Hanma premiered on Netflix in 2021. The show serves as the third part of the Baki anime that began in 2018.
Netflix describes Baki Hanma as:
After overcoming countless intense battles with powerful enemies, the time is finally ripe for Baki to face his father, Yujiro Hanma, who is said to be “the strongest creature on Earth.” Before this battle, Baki chooses Biscuit Oliva—also known as Mr. Unchained—as an appropriate sparring partner.
Oliva is currently incarcerated in a prison called the “Black Pentagon,” home to only the most violent criminals. In order to fight Oliva, Baki gets himself imprisoned in the Black Pentagon. However, in addition to his desired sparring partner, a number of terrifying fighters also await him here!
Baki Hanma is based on the Akita Shoten-published Baki manga series by Keisuke Itagaki, which began in 1999 with Baki the Grappler. An earlier anime adaptation was released in 2001.
The latest Baki manga is the ongoing Baki–michi, which began in 2018. There are currently six main Baki series and various spin-offs.
Baki Hanma‘s main staff includes Toshiki Hirano as director, Tatsuhiko Urahata as series composer, and Shingo Ishikawa as character designer. TMS Entertainment is the animation production company.
Meanwhile, the cast includes Nobunaga Shimazaki as Baki Hanma, Akio Otsuka as Yujiro Hanma, Hochu Otsuka as Biscuit Olivia, Kenji Nojima as Jun Guevara, and Mami Koyama as Maria.
