Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie Gets 2nd Key Visual

Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie has released a second key visual ahead of its April 9 Japanese premiere. The visual depicts main couple Shikimori and Izumi, as well as supporting characters Yui Hachimitsu, Kyo Nekozaki, and Shu Inuduka.

The anime is based on the romantic comedy manga by Keigo Maki, which began in 2019 and has been collected into 12 volumes as of March 2022. Kodansha describes the story as:

Shikimori seems like the perfect girlfriend: cute, fun to be around, sweet when she wants to be… but she has a cool dark side that comes out under the right circumstances. And her boyfriend Izumi loves to be around when that happens! A fun and funny high school romance with a sassy twist perfect for fans of Nagatoro-san and Komi Can’t Communicate!

The main staff includes Ryouta Itou (Sing “Yesterday” for Me assistant director) as director, Shouhei Yamanaka (Remake Our Life! Ep 1-7 assistant director) as assistant director, Ai Kikuchi (Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle) as character designer, and Yoshimi Narita (My Senpai Is Annoying) as series composer. Doga Kobo is the animation production company.

Meanwhile, the cast members include Saori Oonishi as Shikimori, Shuuichirou Umeda as Izumi, Misato Matsuoka as Kyo  Nekozaki, Rina Hidaka as Yui Hachimitsu, and Nobuhiko Okamoto as Shu Inuduka.

The Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie manga is serialized in Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket app and published under the KC Deluxe label. It originated as a Twitter-posted manga.
