The third season of Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun will begin airing this October. The anime production team also revealed a new key visual to tease the upcoming season this fall. The visual highlights Iruma and a new character named Barbatos Bachiko — a prestigious professor at Babyls Academy.

News of a third season was first announced last September. Original manga creator Osamu Nishi posted a special illustration to commemorate the news. Previous voice cast members of Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun are all slated to reprise their respective roles.

The new season will follow Iruma and friends at the Harvest Festival, where they’ll be tasked with surviving, competing, and securing food against each other in a massive Netherworld jungle.

Makoto Moriwaki (PriPara) directed both seasons of the anime. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime Season 2) wrote the series’ scripts and Satohiko Sano (Talentless Nana) was one of the character designers. Hitomi Yoshida (He Is My Master) was the art director for both anime seasons and Hiroyuki Chiba (Code Geass: Lelouch of the Re;Surrection) was the photography director. Akimitsu Honma (Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku) composed the series’ music. Bandai Namco Pictures handled animation production for both seasons.

Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun is based on Nishi’s school fantasy manga of the same name. It was first serialized in 2017 and has published 23 tankoubon volumes so far.

The anime’s first season aired from October 2019 to March 2020, while the second season aired from April to September 2021.

Crunchyroll streamed both seasons as they aired. They describe the anime as:

Suzuki Iruma, human, 14, one day finds himself taken against his will into the world of demons. To add to his predicament, his doting owner and self-appointed “Grandpa” is the chair-demon at his new school. In order to survive, Iruma must deal with a haughty student who challenges him to a duel, a girl with adjustment issues, and so many more scary beings! Can this ultimate pacifist dodge the slings and arrows that are flung his way? As he struggles frantically, Iruma’s innate kindness begins to win over enemies.
