New Demon Slayer Season Announced, Visual Released


The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime is set to continue with a season that will tackle the Swordsmith Village Arc. In addition to the new season’s announcement, a teaser visual of Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito and Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji as well an announcement video have been released.

As listed on the anime’s website, the returning staff from the freshly concluded Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc includes director Haruo Sotozaki and character designer/chief animation director Akira Matsushima

The first Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba season premiered in 2019. The anime is based on the manga by Koyoharu Gotouge, which was first serialized in 2016 in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine and ended in 2020 with a total of 23 tankoubon volumes. 

2020 saw the release of Demon Slayer – Kimetsu No Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train, which received a TV broadcast version that premiered in October. The TV version of Mugen Train was followed by the Entertainment District Arc which began on December 5. The anime are produced by Ufotable.


The main cast includes Hanae Natsuki as Tanjiro Kamado, Akari Kitou as Nezuko Kamado, Hiro Shimono as Zenitsu Agatsuma, and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Inosuke Hashibira.

Crunchyroll describes the first season as:

It is the Taisho Period in Japan. Tanjiro, a kindhearted boy who sells charcoal for a living, finds his family slaughtered by a demon. To make matters worse, his younger sister Nezuko, the sole survivor, has been transformed into a demon herself. Though devastated by this grim reality, Tanjiro resolves to become a “demon slayer” so that he can turn his sister back into a human, and kill the demon that massacred his family.
