A Nintendo Switch version of Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles is set to debut in Japan and Asia on June 9. A teaser trailer for the Switch version has been released.

The Japanese website lists both physical and digital editions for the Switch version, with both costing 7,480 yen (~US$65, tax-included). The digital edition offers early access keys to Kimetsu Academy Tanjiro and, if pre-purchased, Kimetsu Academy Nezuko, Kimetsu Academy Zenitsu, and Kimetsu Academy Inosuke as well.

There is also a limited Figure Multi-stand Edition that costs 11,800 yen (~US$103.22, tax-included). This edition includes an original Figure Multi-stand and provides early access to the Kimetsu Academy versions of Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, Inosuke, Giyu, and Shinobu.

Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles launched for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam on October 14 in Japan and October 15 worldwide. Three waves of free, post-launch DLCs were released, adding a total of six new playable characters to the tag team-based Versus Mode.

Aside from Versus Mode, the game has an Adventure Mode that tackles both the events of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime series’ first season and Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train.

Sega Asia describes the game as:

Become the Demon Slayer, Tanjiro Kamado, to fight off the demons threatening humanity in order to turn his sister Nezuko, who has become a demon, back into a human, as well as to avenge the death of his family by hunting down the demon who killed them.

Update: Added that the game will also be available in Asia.

Melvyn originally wanted to write about video games, and he did so for a few years, starting from his college days. He still writes about video games sometimes, but now focuses on anime-related news content and the occasional review. Some of his free time is spent self-learning Japanese, both out of interest in the language and because English-translated light novels and manga are expensive. Every anime season, Melvyn looks forward to discovering new standout episodes and OP/ED animation sequences, as well as learning about the storyboard artists and directors behind them.
