The Insomniacs after school (Kimi wa Houkago Insomnia) manga is getting adapted into a TV anime. A live-action movie has also been announced.

An illustration from author Makoto Ojiro was released with the announcement.

Insomniacs after school began in 2019 and has eight tankoubon volumes as of January 12, 2022. It is published under Shogakukan’s Big Comics label and serialized in the Big Comic Spirits magazine. The story follows high schooler Ganta, an insomniac who meets Isaki, a girl who has the same problem as him. The two teenagers meet after classes at an observatory-turned-storage room, beginning a strange relationship of brief sleep and shared secrets.

An anime promotional video for the manga was released in October 2021.

Melvyn originally wanted to write about video games, and he did so for a few years, starting from his college days. He still writes about video games sometimes, but now focuses on anime-related news content and the occasional review. Some of his free time is spent self-learning Japanese, both out of interest in the language and because English-translated light novels and manga are expensive. Every anime season, Melvyn looks forward to discovering new standout episodes and OP/ED animation sequences, as well as learning about the storyboard artists and directors behind them.
