Anime Festival Asia Returns For Singapore Edition in February 2022

Anime Festival Asia (AFA) is set to return in February 2022 for its Singapore edition after a hiatus in 2021. SOZO, the organization behind AFA, has shared that while “we still can’t bring you physical events,” there will be “more guests, more content, and activities,” as well as an “extended duration with live elements.” More details will be announced at a later date.

SOZO describes AFA as:

Born in 2008, AFA is the largest and most followed J-pop culture event in Southeast Asia (“SEA”) covering Singapore, Indonesia & Malaysia, with 9 festivals in the past 6 years exceeding 130,000 attendees in 2013. AFA has become a household name to J-Pop Culture lovers in the SE Asian region, and is the leading and most effective content delivery platform, centering around all things Japanese Pop Culture.

AFA was renamed as C3AFA from the 2017 edition onwards. The previous in-person AFA was held in Singapore on November 29 to December 1, 2019 and had 120,000 attendees with 168 exhibitors. The 2019 event was co-organised by SOZO, SOTSU, ZEPP Live Inc., Horipro International, and Amuse Entertainment Singapore.
