Mieruko-chan is once again in possession of the top spots in two of Anime Trending’s charts this week. Here’s a recap of the Anime Trending Charts released from December 6 to 9.

It is now a three-way tie so far for Fall 2021 as Mieruko-chan returns to the top spot for the second time this season, equalling the number of weeks won by Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation, and 86 EIGHTY-SIX. Two other anime have previously topped the chart once, which are Komi Can’t Communicate and takt op.Destiny. The high school romcom last topped the chart in the fourth week of the Fall 2021 Charts, while the music-inspired anime scored “first blood” for this season.
My Senpai is Annoying makes a big return to the Top 10 Charts, going straight to #6 — the highest rank it has reached so far this season. The World’s Finest Assassin also makes its return to the Top 10.

The best boy race continues to be competitive as Rudeus Greyrat (Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation) returns to the top spot, toppling Hitohito Tadano (Komi Can’t Communicate) who was unable maintain his position for a second consecutive week. Other boys in the running for this season’s best boy award include Red (Banished from the Hero’s Party) and Shinei Nouzen (86 EIGHTY-SIX). The adventurer-turned apothecary drops two spots this week, and the war-scarred veteran continues to go down the rankings due to 86 EIGHTY-SIX’s delays.
Meanwhile, Lugh Tuatha De (The World’s Finest Assassin) makes his return to the Top 5, shooting by three spots to #4. After debuting last week, Souta Kazama (My Senpai is Annoying) continues his advance forward up three spots and is now at #7 in the latest male rankings.

Miko Yotsuya (Mieruko-chan) continues to dominate the female rankings this season and is actually one win away from securing this season’s Best Girl award. She is currently on a four-week winning streak with three more weeks remaining for the charts. Shouko Komi (Komi Can’t Communicate), the only other female character that also reached the top spot this season, improves her ranking by three spots and is now behind Yotsuya. However, Komi has only won once this season during the first issue of the female rankings.
Hana Yurikawa, Yotsuya’s best friend, advances by two spots to #7. Meanwhile, Touko Sakurai (My Senpai is Annoying) returns to the Top 10. She replaces her co-worker, Futaba Igarashi, who drops out of the Top 10 for the first time this season.

Red and Rit (Banished from the Hero’s Party) are unable to put an early end to this season’s best couple race with their four-week winning streak, as Hitohito Tadano and Komi Shouko (Komi Can’t Communicate) suddenly top the chart. The latter couple now has two wins so far. With three more weeks remaining, Tadano and Shouko can still catch up with Red and Rit, and possibly even overtake them with the number of weeks won.
