Additional cast details were also revealed, with DAOKO and Serena Motola playing the roles of Maru and Moro respectively.

Character images have been released as well.

xxxHOLiC is set to premiere on April 29 in Japan. It is based on the manga by CLAMP, which ran from 2003 to 2011 with 19 tankoubon volumes. A sequel titled xxxHOLiC Rei began in 2013 and has four tankoubon volumes as of 2016. Both are published by Kodansha.

An anime series adaptation of the manga ran from 2006 to 2008 with two seasons, while an anime movie was released in 2005. Both were produced by Production I.G and directed by Tsutomu Mizushima with character designs from Kazuchika Kise. There have been several OVAs as well. The manga has also inspired a novel, a live-action TV drama, a stage play, and more.

The live-action xxxHOLiC movie is directed by Mika Ninagawa (No Longer Human) and written by Erika Yoshida (Omoi, Omoware, Furi, Furare anime movie). The cast includes Ryuunosuke Kamiki as Kimihiro Watanuki, Kou Shibasaki as Yuuko Ichihara, Hokuto Matsumura as Shizuka Doumeki, and Tina Tamashiro as Himawari Kunogi.

Kodansha describes the manga as:

Kimihiro Watanuki is haunted by visions of ghosts and spirits. He seeks help from a mysterious woman named Yuko, who claims she can help. However, Watanuki must work for Yuko in order to pay for her aid. Soon Watanuki finds himself employed in Yuko’s shop where he sees things and meets customers that are stranger than anything he could have ever imagined.
