Tokyo Twenty Fourth Ward Trailer and Visual Released

The upcoming Tokyo Twenty Fourth Ward anime has received a trailer and visual. The trailer includes a preview of the opening song “Paper Sky” by Survive Said The Prophet.

It was also revealed that the original anime will premiere with an hour-long episode on January 5, 2022 in Japan. Additionally, there will be an advance screening on November 30.

Tokyo Twenty Fourth Ward follows close childhood friends Shuuta, Ran, and Yuuki, who hail from the titular 24th Ward. A year after an incident that changed their relationship, the three reunite during a memorial mass dedicated to said incident, only to simultaneously receive a phone call from a supposedly dead friend. As the “Future Selection” draws near, it is up to Shuuta, Ran, and Yuuki to protect the future of their beloved 24th Ward and its inhabitants. 

The staff includes Naokatsu Tsuda (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind chief director) as director, Hidetoshi Takahashi (Oda Cinnamon Nobunaga director) as assistant director, Nitroplus’s Vio Shimokura (YOU and ME and HER: A Love Story scenario writer) as series composer and scriptwriter, FiFS’s Shuuji Sogabe (The Idolmaster: SideM original animation character designer) and Kanako Nono (Prince of Stride: Alternative source material character designer) as original character designers, and Takahiro Kishida (Kageki Shojo!!) as character designer.

Akira Takada (Kageki Shojo!!), Kiminori Itou (Fate/Apocrypha), and Majiro (Gekijōban Macross Delta: Zettai LIVE!!!!!!) are chief animation directors on the show.

Other staff include Minami Kasuga (BEASTARS) as art director, Kazuko Nakajima (VOY@GER concept movie) as color designer, Yuuya Sakuma (VOY@GER concept movie) as photography director, and Hideyuki Fukasawa (Fate/Grand Order THE MOVIE Divine Realm of the Round Table: Camelot co-composer) as music composer. CloverWorks is the animation production company.

Meanwhile, the cast includes Junya Enoki as Shuuta Aosei, Yuuma Uchida as Ran Shushiro, and Kaito Ishikawa as Yuuki Hidou.
