THE FIRST TAKE announced on its Twitter account that well-known anisong artists Aimer, milet, and Ikuta Lilas of YOASOBI will have a collaboration coming soon. This will be the first ever FIRST TAKE stint for Aimer, while milet and Lilas return for a third and fourth time consecutively.

THE FIRST TAKE describes itself as a “YouTube Channel dedicated to shooting musicians and singers performing in a single take.” Its tagline is “ONE TAKE ONLY, ONE LIFE ONLY.” It has started hosting singers, primarily from the Sony Music Label, since November 2019. Other popular anisong artists that performed on THE FIRST TAKE include tk from Ling Tosite Sigure, LiSA, Eir Aoi, and Masayuki Suzuki.
Aimer is a two-time winner in the Anime Trending Awards. She won the Opening Theme Song of the Year title during the 2nd Anime Trending Awards for her single “Brave Shine” from Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works. She then won the Ending Theme Song of the Year title during the 5th Anime Trending Awards for her single “ref:rain” from Love is Like After the Rain.
milet rose to fame with “Drown,” her single used as the second ending theme song for Vinland Saga, which won Anime of the Year 2019 during the 6th Anime Trending Awards. She also sang “Prover,” the ending theme song for Fate/Grand Order – Absolute Demonic Front: Babylonia, which competed against Vinland Saga that season.
Ikuta Lilas from the music duo, YOASOBI, is a new entrant in the anisong scene, having recently performed both the opening and ending theme song for the second season of BEASTARS, which is streaming exclusively on Netflix. “Yasashii Suisei,” the ending theme song, is one of the 16 nominees for the Ending Theme Song of the Year title in the upcoming 8th Anime Trending Awards.
