The full version of “Makafushigi,” a special anime video collaboration between the Gran Saga MMO and RADWIMPS that features the latter’s “MAKAFUKA” song, has been released on YouTube. A 15-second version was previously uploaded on October 21.
The CloverWorks-produced video is directed, storyboarded, and edited by Nobutaka Yoda (Heart Forecast music video director and storyboarder; The Aquatope on White Sand Opening 1, Opening 2, and Ending 1 director), with Shin’ichirou Ushijima (I Want to Eat Your Pancreas director) as animation director.
Other staff include Shiho Takeuchi (The Promised Neverland) as layout supervisor, Shouta Iwasaki (Fate/Grand Order Final Singularity – Grand Temple of Time: Solomon co-sub character designer and animation director) as character designer and animation director, Kazuko Nakajima (Fate/Grand Order Final Singularity – Grand Temple of Time: Solomon) as color designer, and Hisayo Usui (Fate/Grand Order Final Singularity – Grand Temple of Time: Solomon co-art director) as art director.
The “MAKAFUKA” anime video comes ahead of Gran Saga‘s Japanese launch on November 18. The NPIXEL-developed game launched in South Korea on January 26.
The game uses the Unreal Engine 4 engine and is playable on mobile and PC. QooApp describes the story as being about “the adventure of a group of knights who want to save their kingdom from the curse of an evil dragon.”
The “MAKAFUKA” song is part of the upcoming “FOREVER DAZE” album, which will release on November 23.
Update: The article originally stated that “MAKAFUKA” was the name of the anime video. This has been amended.
