MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM BATTLE OPERATION Code Fairy Game Announced, Releases November 4

A new Mobile Suit Gundam game titled MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM BATTLE OPERATION Code Fairy has been announced. Described as a “single-player battle action game” that maintains “the same control feel” of the free-to-play MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM BATTLE OPERATION 2 multiplayer game, it is set to release on November 4 for PS4 and PS5.

BATTLE OPERATION Code Fairy takes place in North America during the One Year War. The story follows three Zeon pilots — Alma Stirner, Helena Hegel, and Mia Brinkman — who are part of the secret Noisy Fairy unit that is under Kycilia Zabi’s direct control. The anime parts of the game feature Masayoshi Tanaka (Weathering With You co-character designer, Her Blue Sky) as character designer and Toshikazu Yoshizawa (Mobile Suit Gundam Narrative director) as director, storyboarder, and animation director.

The story is divided into three volumes, which release on November 5, November 19, and December 3 respectively. Each volume contains five episodes.

The third-person action game will feature voice chat commands and a “Next Target Link System,” in addition to pilot skills and mobile suit customization that includes upgrades like health-boosting leg armor and melee-enhancing programs. Aside from the main story and its “unpredictable” missions, there will be Situations and Cost Matches, with the latter offering “simple battles with cost limits” and quicker redeploy times.

BATTLE OPERATION Code Fairy will offer linked save data functionality with BATTLE OPERATION 2. Players can also obtain a BATTLE OPERATION Code Fairy unit for the latter by completing a special mission. Conversely, completing a special task in BATTLE OPERATION 2 will unlock an additional BATTLE OPERATION Code Fairy mission.

BATTLE OPERATION Code Fairy will have a Standard Edition and a Deluxe Edition. Both versions come with a PSN Avatar Set, as well as a Zanny [Ground Type] LV1 unit and 100,000 DP for BATTLE OPERATION 2. Pre-purchasing will grant buyers one-day early access to the second and third volumes, while purchasing the game on November 4 will provide early access to the first volume.

The Deluxe Edition also includes additional BATTLE OPERATION 2 bonuses like a Unit “High Mobility Zaku Ground Type (AS) LV1,” six Avatar Costumes “T-Shirt,” and Operator “VR Operator Alma.”
