Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Suguru Geto Visual Revealed

The Jujutsu Kaisen 0 website has released an image of the upcoming movie’s antagonist, Suguru Getō.

The movie previously received preview images of Yūta Okkotsu, Maki Zenin, Toge Inumaki, and Panda in combat poses.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is set to premiere in Japan on December 24. It is based on the manga by Gege Akutami, which was first serialized in Jump GIGA in 2017 for four volumes under a different title and later published as a single volume manga in November 2018. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is a prequel to Akutami’s main Jujutsu Kaisen series, which began in March 2018 and received an anime adaptation in 2020.

VIZ Media describes the story as:

Yuta Okkotsu is a nervous high school student who is suffering from a serious problem—his childhood friend Rika has turned into a Curse and won’t leave him alone. Since Rika is no ordinary Curse, his plight is noticed by Satoru Gojo, a teacher at Jujutsu High, a school where fledgling exorcists learn how to combat Curses. Gojo convinces Yuta to enroll, but can he learn enough in time to confront the Curse that haunts him?

The staff includes Sunghoo Park as director, Hiroshi Seko as scriptwriter, Tadashi Hiramatsu as character designer, and Yui Umemoto as assistant director. All four had previously worked on the Jujutsu Kaisen series. MAPPA is the animation production company.

Meanwhile, the cast includes Megumi Ogata as Yūta, Mikako Komatsu as Maki, Kōki Uchiyama as Toge, Tomokazu Seki as Panda, Yūichi Nakamura as Satoru, and Takahiro Sakurai as Suguru Geto.

Melvyn originally wanted to write about video games, and he did so for a few years, starting from his college days. He still writes about video games sometimes, but now focuses on anime-related news content and the occasional review. Some of his free time is spent self-learning Japanese, both out of interest in the language and because English-translated light novels and manga are expensive. Every anime season, Melvyn looks forward to discovering new standout episodes and OP/ED animation sequences, as well as learning about the storyboard artists and directors behind them.
