Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie To Premiere April 2022, Visual Released

The Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie anime has received an April 2022 release window and a teaser visual featuring the titular character. Main staff and cast details were also revealed.

The staff includes Ryōta Itō (Sing “Yesterday” for Me assistant director) as director, Shōhei Yamanaka (Remake Our Life! Ep 1-7 assistant director) as assistant director, Ai Kikuchi (Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle) as character designer, and Yoshimi Narita (My Senpai Is Annoying)  as series composer. Doga Kobo is the animation production company.

Meanwhile, the cast includes Saori Ōnishi as Shikimori and Shūichirō Umeda as Izumi.

Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie is based on the ongoing manga by Keigo Maki, which began in 2019 and has been collected into nine volumes as of July 2021. Kodansha Comics describes the story as:

Shikimori seems like the perfect girlfriend: cute, fun to be around, sweet when she wants to be… but she has a cool dark side that comes out under the right circumstances. And her boyfriend Izumi loves to be around when that happens! A fun and funny high school romance with a sassy twist perfect for fans of Nagatoro-san and Komi Can’t Communicate!
