The official Ichijinsha Twitter account revealed a new promotional video for the upcoming third OVA of Fujita’s Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku (Otaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii) manga. The video previews the theme song “Love or Respect” by Arisa Date and Kent Itō as their respective characters.
The manga’s 11th and final volume will be released on October 14, with a special edition that will include the third OVA. The OVA is based on the “Company Outing” story from the manga’s sixth volume.
The Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku manga launched on the pixiv website in 2014 and moved to Ichijinsha’s Comic POOL digital manga magazine in November 2015. Ichijinsha published the manga’s 10th volume on February 26. The manga has exceeded 12 million copies in circulation, including print and digital. The manga received an 11-episode anime adaptation that premiered in April 2018. The anime’s first OVA shipped with the manga’s seventh volume in March 2019, and the second OVA shipped with the tenth volume on February 26.
Kodansha Comics publishes the manga in English and describes the story as:
Narumi Momose has had it rough: every boyfriend she’s had dumped her once they found out she was an otaku, so she’s gone to great lengths to hide it. When a chance meeting at her new job with childhood friend, fellow otaku, and now coworker Hirotaka Nifuji almost gets her secret outed at work, she comes up with a plan to make sure he never speaks up. But he comes up with a counter-proposal: why doesn’t she just date him instead? In love, there are no save points.
