Yusuke Murata Directs One Punch Man Anime Short

Yūsuke Murata, the artist of the Shueisha-published One Punch Man manga, has uploaded a One Punch Man anime short that he directed on his Twitter account.

Titled Go! Saitama, the soundless short sees Saitama rushing for a supermarket timed sale after defeating a monster. Murata said that the short was made as a result of having free time, as the latest chapter of the manga is delayed due to “various circumstances.”

Murata also wrote that he hoped to learn how to add voicework, music, and sound effects, adding that he wanted to try his hand at making non-One-Punch Man-related works as well.

One-Punch Man began as a self-published web manga by ONE in 2009, with the manga still ongoing as of 2021. The Shueisha-published version began in 2012 and has been collected into 23 volumes as of January 2021. The most recent chapter at the time of writing, Chapter 194, was published in July.

The manga has been adapted into two anime seasons, which were produced by Madhouse and J.C.Staff respectively. The first season was released in 2015, while the second season was released in 2019.
