Aniplus Asia Simulcasts Visual Prison in Southeast Asia for Fall 2021

Aniplus Asia announced that Visual Prison will be simulcasted as part of the Fall 2021 slate in Southeast Asia. The “Visual Kei X Vampires” media project by Noriyasu Agematsu in collaboration with A-1 Pictures and Aniplex premieres on October 8 at 24:30 (GMT+8). Subsequent episodes will air every Friday.

Visual Prison is set in the modern day, where mankind is unaware that many music artists, including those of the visual kei genre, are not humans. In Harajuku, vampires, who become stronger and develop a barrier called Prison under the crimson moon, have gathered. The vampires have an occasion called the Visual Prison every October, and those who dedicate the most beautiful song to the crimson moon are bestowed with great power. 

The setup for the story sees a boy called Ange Yuki encountering a live battle between the ECLIPSE and LOS†EDEN visual kei bands, with Ange being assaulted with pain after being overwhelmed by the energetic stage.

The staff includes Elements Garden’s founder Noriyasu Agematsu and Afredes as the original creators, Jōji Furuta (SHAMAN KING director) as chief director, Tomoya Tanaka (Star Ocean: Anamnesis – The Leash Code opening animation) as director, Yukie Sugawara (Combatants Will Be Dispatched!) as series composer, Minako Shiba (Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle- Rhyme Anima) as character designer, and Ikumi Katagiri (GOD EATER 2 mangaka) as the original character designer.

Jinshichi Yamaguchi (Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal The Movie), Hiroshi Yakō (Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina), and Honoka Yokoyama (Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle- Rhyme Anima assistant animation director) are serving as sub-character designers, while Yamaguchi, Yakō, and Reina Kawasaki (Sonny Boy animation director) are serving as chief animation directors.

Other staff include Hirofumi Sakagami (Shadows House co-art director) as art director, Kanako Hokari (Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle- Rhyme Anima) and Mayu Morita (Blend S) as color designers, Ryūta Undō (Sword Art Online series) as CG director, Akito Suzuki (Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle- Rhyme Anima assistant director of photography) as director of photography, and Elements Garden as music composer. A-1 Pictures is the animation production company.

Meanwhile, Visual Prison’s cast includes Shōya Chiba as Ange Yuki, Takuya Eguchi as Saga Latour, Toshiki Masuda as Dimitri Romanee, Makoto Furukawa as Guiltia Brion, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Mist Flaive, Aoi Shōta as Hyde Jayer, Hiroki Nanami as Eve Louise, Takuma Nagatsuka as Veuve Elizabeth, Horie Shun as Robin Laffite, and Shogo Yano as Jack Mouton.
