The official website and Twitter account for the anime adaptation of Sana Kirioka’s Taisho Otome Fairy Tale (Taisho Otome Otogi Banashi) manga series revealed its new promotional video, theme song artist, and October 9 premiere date. The video previews the anime’s opening theme song “Otome no Kokoroe” (“A Girl’s Knowledge”) by GARNiDELiA. Funimation will stream the anime as it airs.
The anime’s staff includes Hatori Jun (Beyblade: Metal Fury) as director, Fukuda Hiroko (Hayate the Combat Butler) as scriptwriter, Watanabe Mayumi (Fairy Tail) as character designer, and Yasuharu Takanashi (Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Crystal) as music composer. Shunichi Toki performs the ending theme song “Makokoro ni Sō.” The animation production will be from SynergySP.
The anime’s cast includes Yūsuke Kobayashi as Shima Tamahiko, Saya Aizawa as Tachibana Yuzuki, Yume Miyamoto as Shima Tamako, Chika Anzai as Atsumi Ryo, Ayasa Itō as Shiratori Kotori, and Shunichi Toki as Shiratori Hikaru.
The Taisho Otome Otogi Banashi manga was serialized in Shueisha’s Jump SQ. magazine from 2015 to 2017. Kirioka then published a sequel titled Showa Otome Otogi Banashi on the Shonen Jump+ website. The manga’s fifth and final volume released on July 3.
