New Tales of Arise Japanese Commercial Features Cover Version of 1995 Song

The upcoming JRPG Tales of Arise has received a new Japanese commercial, which features the song “Hello, Again ~ Mukashi Kara Aru Basho,” by Ayaka. The song, which was originally performed by pop band My Little Lover in 1995, will appear in the game as well.

Ayaka is also performing the game’s “grand theme,” which is titled “Blue Moon.” The song, which Ayaka wrote, will release on August 26 on music streaming sites.

The 17th main entry in the Tales series, Tales of Arise is set to release on September 10 for PlayStation5, PlayStation4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Steam. A demo is set to be released on consoles on August 18.

The game will offer a new Boost Strike system where players can chain combos with party members, as well as a graphics shader “inspired by anime and watercolor painting.” Also promised by Bandai Namco’s website are a “mix of unique, natural” environments that change depending on the time of day and ufotable-produced animation at key points of the story.

The Bandai Namco website describes Tales of Arise as:

For 300 years, Rena has ruled over Dahna, pillaging the planet of its resources and stripping people of their dignity and freedom.

Our tale begins with two people, Alphen and Shionne, born on different worlds, each looking to change their fate and create a new future.

Featuring a diverse cast of characters, intuitive and rewarding combat system, and a captivating story set in a lush world worth fighting for, Tales of Arise delivers a first-class JRPG experience.
