The official website for the upcoming anime adaptation of Miku and U35’s Shinka no Mi ~Shiranai Uchi ni Kachigumi Jinsei~ (The Fruit of Evolution ~Before I Knew It, My Life Had It Made~) light novel series revealed the anime’s first promotional video, a new visual, additional cast, and the theme song artists. The anime will premiere this October.
The new cast members include Marina Inoue as Artoria Gremm, Tetsu Inada as Gassle Kroot, and Yūka Nishio as Eris McClain. Previously revealed cast members include Hiro Shimono as Seiichi Hiiragi and Kana Hanazawa as Saria.
The anime’s staff includes Yoshiaki Okumura (Monsuno) as director, Gigaemon Ichikawa (Bottom Biting Bug) as series composer and scriptwriter, Minami Eda as character designer, Seo Gu Lee (A Destructive God Sits Next to Me) as art director, Hideki Imaizumi (We Never Learn: BOKUBEN) as director of photography, and Hifumi Inc. as music composer. The animation production will be from Hotline. Yoshino Nanjō will perform the opening theme song “Evolution:” and Poppin’Party will perform the ending theme song “Moonlight Walk.”
The Shinka no Mi light novel series launched on the “Shōsetsuka ni Narō” (Let’s Become Novelists) website in January 2014. The novel’s first volume was published in September 2014, while its 12th volume released on February 26. A manga adaptation by Sorano launched on Futabasha’s Web Comic Action manga website in September 2017.
The story follows a chubby boy named Seiichi Hiiragi, who is transported to a game-like fantasy world in an incident involving his entire school. In that world, Hiiragi and a gorilla called Saria eat an Evolution Fruit, resulting in a miraculous transformation for the both of them.
