In the Land of Leadale Anime Gets New PV, Cast, Premieres January 2022

During the Virtual Crunchyroll Expo 2021 panel for the anime adaptation of Ceez and Tenmaso’s In the Land of Leadale (Leadale no Daichi nite) light novel series, it was announced that the anime is scheduled to premiere in January 2022. Additionally, the panel revealed the anime’s first promotional video, a new visual, and the main cast.

The anime’s main cast includes Eri Yukimura as Cayna, Daisuke Ono as Skargo, Kaori Nazuka as Mai-Mai, and Tomokazu Sugita as Kartatz.

The anime’s staff includes Takeyuki Yanase (By the Grace of the Gods) as director, Kazuyuki Fudeyasu (How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord, Dropkick on My Devil!) as scriptwriter and supervisor, and Toshihide Masudate (91 Days animation director), Eri Kojima (I’m Standing on A Million Lives), and Kaho Deguchi (By the Grace of the Gods) as character designers. The animation production will be from MAHO FILM. 

The In the Land of Leadale light novel series launched on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō (Let’s Become Novelists) website in November 2010 and ended in December 2012. Kadokawa began publishing the novels in print in January 2019.

Yen Press publishes the novels in English and describes the story as:

The last thing she can remember is her life support beginning to fail. Her body had suffered terribly after a fateful accident and the only freedom left in her life came from the VR world of Leadale. How did she end up in a place that looks exactly like her game except that 200 years have apparently gone by?
