JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: STONE OCEAN Release Date Set For December 2021 on Netflix


During the JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure STONE OCEAN (Part 6) livestream event, Warner Bros. Japan released a new key visual, staff, cast, and preview trailer for the TV anime series. It was also revealed that Netflix will stream the anime series worldwide beginning December 2021. The Japanese broadcast will begin in January 2022.

The main staff includes Kenichi Suzuki (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders series director) as chief director, Toshiyuki Kato (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable series director) as director, Yasuko Kobayashi as series composer, Masanori Shino as character designer, Shunichi Ishimoto (Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan character designer) as stand designer, Yoshikazu Iwanami as sound director, and Yugo Kanno as music composer. David Productions is returning as the animation production.

The main voice cast includes Mutsumi Tamura as Ermes Costello, Mariya Ise as F.F., Atsumi Tanezaki as Emporio Alnino, Yuichirou Umehara as Weather Forecast, Daisuke Namikawa as Narciso Anastasia, and Daisuke Ono as Jotaro Kujo. Fairouz Ai will voice as Jolyne Cujoh. 

During the livestream, the series was described as: 

Florida, USA, 2021. Jolyne Cujoh is framed and sentenced to 15 years in jail after getting in a car accident with her boyfriend. She ends up in Green Dolphin Street prison, also known as “the Aquarium.” Devastated, Jolyne takes her father’s pendant into her hand when a strange power awakens within her. 

“There are worse fates than death, and people in this prison are facing such fates.” 

Jolyne is relayed this message from a mysterious boy. Inexplicable events happen one after another. While visiting, her father Jotaro Kujo reveals a terrifying truth and mentions a man named Dio. Will Jolyne Cujoh ever free herself from this “stone ocean” that is a prism? 

Amid this, a century-old feud between Dio and the Joestars enters its climax.
