Platinum End Anime Gets Two New Cast Members, Premieres October 7

The official website for the TV anime adaptation of Takeshi Obata and Tsugumi Ohba’s Platinum End manga revealed additional cast members and the anime’s October 7 premiere date. The anime will run till March 2022 with 24 episodes and will adapt the manga’s entire story.

The newly added cast members include Kaori Maeda as Mimi Yamada and Shōya Chiba as Mizukiyo Minamikawa. Previously announced cast members include Miyu Irino as Mirai Kakehashi, Yui Ogura as Nasse, M.A.O. as Saki Hanakago, Natsuki Hanae as Rubel, Toshiyuki Morikawa as Nanato Mukaidō, Ai Kayano as Bare, Kaito Ishikawa as Kanade Uryū, Kikuko Inoue as Meiza, Tomoaki Maeno as Hajime Sokotani, and Hikaru Midorikawa as Balta.

The anime’s staff includes Hideya Takahashi (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind) as director, Kōji Ōya (No Game No Life) as character designer, Shinichi Inotsume (Gleipnir) as series composer, and Digital Frontier’s Masanori Ikeda (Infini-T Force) as 3DCG director. Signal MD is in charge of the animation production, while Kusanagi is contributing the backgrounds.  

The Platinum End manga ran from 2015 to 2021 in Shueisha’s Jump Square Magazine. Viz Media publishes the manga in English and describes the story as:

As his classmates celebrate their middle school graduation, troubled Mirai is mired in darkness. But his battle is just beginning when he receives some salvation from above in the form of an angel. Now Mirai is pitted against 12 other chosen humans in a battle in which the winner becomes the next god of the world. Mirai has an angel in his corner, but he may need to become a devil to survive.
