Aharen-san wa Hakarenai Anime Gets Teaser Trailer, Premieres April 2022

The anime adaptation of Asato Mizu’s Aharen-san wa Hakarenai manga is set to premiere in April 2022. A teaser PV and teaser visual for the anime was also released.

The staff includes Yasutaka Yamamoto (Noblesse director) as chief director, Tomoe Makino (Woodpecker Detective’s Office) as director, Takao Yoshioka (Horimiya) as series composer, Yūko Yahiro (Kaguya-sama: Love Is War) as character designer, and Satoru Kōsaki (Vivy -Fluorite Eye’s Song-) and MONACA (Maesetsu!) as music composers. FelixFilm is in charge of the animation production.

Meanwhile, the cast includes Inori Minase as the titular Reina Aharen and Takuma Terashima as Raidō.

The Aharen-san wa Hakarenai manga began in 2017 and has 11 tankōbon volumes as of March 2021. The romantic comedy revolves around adjacently seated classmates Reina and Raidō, with the former being a small and quiet person whose poor ability to gauge personal space makes her unpredictable.

Melvyn originally wanted to write about video games, and he did so for a few years, starting from his college days. He still writes about video games sometimes, but now focuses on anime-related news content and the occasional review. Some of his free time is spent self-learning Japanese, both out of interest in the language and because English-translated light novels and manga are expensive. Every anime season, Melvyn looks forward to discovering new standout episodes and OP/ED animation sequences, as well as learning about the storyboard artists and directors behind them.
