Aniplus Asia announced that The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!, Night Head 2041, and D_cide Traumerei The Animation will join the Summer 2021 slate that includes The Case Study of Vanitas and The Duke of Death and His Maid.
The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated! will premiere on Aniplus this August, with more details to be announced at a later date. It follows Jahy, the feared second-in-command of the Dark Realm, who becomes powerless and tiny after a run-in with a magical girl that causes the fall of the Dark Realm. Jahy plots to revive the Dark Realm, but she’s now stuck in a badly-maintained one-room apartment with bills to pay and a job to keep. The anime will premiere on July 31 in Japan.
The anime’s staff includes Mirai Minato (Bofuri: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense, Masamune-kun no Revenge) as director, Michiko Yokote (Heaven’s Design Team, SHIROBAKO: The Movie) as series composer, Saori Nakashiki (JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable) as character designer and chief animation director, and Kōji Fujimoto (from Sus4 Inc.) and Osamu Sasaki as music composers. The animation production will be from SILVER LINK.
The cast members include Naomi Ōzora as Jahy-sama, Ai Kayano as the Store Manager, Yōko Hikasa as the Landlady, Kana Hanazawa as Druj, Mikako Komatsu as Saurva, Sumire Uesaka as Magical Girl, and Yui Ogura as Kokoro.
Night Head 2041 is scheduled to premiere on July 15 at 1:30 AM (GMT+8), with subsequent episodes every Thursday.
The series follows psychic brothers Naoto Kirihara, voiced by Daisuke Ono, and Naoya Kirihara, voiced by Nobunaga Shimazaki, who are on the run due to avoid persecution. The Kirihara brothers are being hunted down by Takuya Kuroki (Takahiro Sakurai), who, alongside his younger brother Yūya Kuroki (Kensho Ono), is responsible for tracking the Kirihara brothers down.
Takamitsu Hirakawa (Etotama, revisions) is directing the anime at Shirogumi, with the director of the original live action series George Iida as scriptwriter and series composer. Ito Ogure (Air Gear), also known as Oh! great, is credited as the original character designer, while Yutaka Yamada (Tokyo Ghoul) is composing the music. The opening song titled “Icy Ivy” is performed by Who-ya Extended (Jujutsu Kaisen).
D_cide Traumerei The Animation premiered on July 13 at 6:00 PM (GMT+8), with subsequent episodes every Tuesday.
D_cide Traumerei The Animation is part of a mixed-media project by Bushiroad, Sumzap, and Drecom that includes a mobile game, which involves the mixing of dreams and reality. The anime’s story follows Ryūhei Oda, who witnessed the mysterious death of his brother as an elementary school student. Now a high schooler, Ryūhei spends his time kick-boxing until he gets bitten by a creature called Tris, resulting in odd dreams.
Among the anime’s staff are Kon Yoshikazu (Tiger and Bunny CG creative director) as director, Shigeru Morikawa as advisor, Hiroshi Ōnogi (Phantasy Star Online 2: Episode Oracle) as series composer, BlasTrain as original character designer, and Kōhei Tanaka as music composer.
Meanwhile, the cast includes Yōhei Azakami as Ryūhei, Ayasa Itō as Reina Mōri, Mariko Kōno as Eri Ibusaki, Shun Horie as Aruto Fushibe, Aoi Yūki as Jessica Cleiborn, Haruna Momono as Tris, Kaoru Sakura as Eru Amami, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Yoshichika Murase, and Akio Suyama as Junhei Oda.
