Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 Compilation Movie Announced For 2021

The Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 website has announced a compilation movie based on the first season of the series. The movie will release in 2021 and will include new scenes. 

Director Kenji Kamiyama said that while he has always handled the compilation movies for his own works in the past, another creator will be in charge of the Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 compilation movie. Kamiyama explained that he wanted to know how Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 looked like from the perspective of others.

Meanwhile, co-director Shinji Aramaki said that the second season of the series was currently in production.

The first season of the 3DCG Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 was released on Netflix in 2020. It is a follow-up to the Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex series, which Kamiyama also directed.

Netflix describes Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 as: 

After a global financial crisis, the world is engulfed in an AI-driven “sustainable war.” It’s up to Section 9 to counter new forms of cyber threats.
